Loris Cheramie, Jr.

Loris A. "Black" Cheramie, Jr., 66, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Larose, passed away on Monday Nov. 19, 2012.

Visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be observed at 12 p.m. with burial in the church cemetery

He was survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Ruby T. Cheramie; sons, Mark Cheramie and wife Faith, Scott Cheramie and wife Susanne; daughter, Dana C. Meissner and husband McDonald; sister, Laura Duet; son-in-law, Brian Capeheart and wife Betsy; grandchildren, Chris Cheramie, Megan Cantrelle and husband Jobie, Michelle Cheramie and husband Josh, Heather Cheramie, Russ Cheramie and companion Erica Baehr, Cade Capeheart and wife Kelsi, Brent Cheramie, Colby Capeheart, Michael Meissner and companion Savanna Smith, Brittany Meissner; great-grandchildren, Brayden Cheramie, Adriana Cheramie, Alli Cheramie, Grace Cheramie, Carter Cantrelle, Kobie Cantrelle, Ryder Meissner, Makinsy Meissner, and expecting Elijah Capeheart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loris, Sr and Nita Cheramie.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Please accept Brenda and my condolences on your loss. Black and I were classmates at LCO and although I hadn't seen him in many years, I saw from his Facebook postings that he never lost his sense of family nor his sense of humor. He was a true gentleman and will be missed by all who knew him.
