Gilmore Sr., Selwyn "Sebby" - Bourg  
Selwyn "Sebby" Preston Gilmore Sr., 90, a native of Berwick and resident of Bourg, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday, May 27, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Mable Nini Gilmore; sons, Selwyn "Sonny" Gilmore Jr. and wife, Kathy, and Barry Gilmore and wife, June; daughters, Phyllis Boquet and husband, Malcolm, Cindy Jones and husband, Wayne, and Tammy Credeur; sister, Dixie Bergeron; brother, Don Gilmore; grandchildren, Lori Belicek, Malcolm Boquet Jr., Nikki Pellegrin, Maria Theriot, Jerry Jon Gilmore, Alison Theriot, Matthew Gilmore, Todd Credeur Jr. and Kacey Jones; great-grandchildren, Jamie Picou, Kimberly LeBlanc, Justin and Joshua Boquet, Dain and Jacob Pellegrin, Abby and Drew Theriot, Elizabeth and Preston Gilmore, Rebecca, Isabella, Emmalyn and Theriot twins, and Macie Gilmore; and nine great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Beulah Comeaux Gilmore; brothers, Cecil, Charles and Jerry Gilmore; and sisters, Fae Scherer, Betty Drew Hinton and Myrtle Lois Gilmore. Sebby was a 43 year employee of the Texas Pipeline Company upon his retirement in 1983. He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army Aircorps from 1943 to 1945. He was stationed in the Pacific Marianas Islands with the 20th U.S. Air Force, 52nd Bomber Squadron. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 380, Veterans of Foreign War Post No. 7755, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 8932. Sebby selflessly gave to the church and community of Bourg. He was a faithful servant of the Lord as Lector, Commentator, Eucharistic Minister and the Catholic Charity Program at St. Ann Church. He was blessed with the gift of voice, singing for many weddings and funerals. Sebby also gave back to his community by coordinating with the council on Aging and the Meals on Wheels Program for the elderly in Bourg. His home serves as its home base still today. Sebby love spending time at the camp, his home away from home in Grand Isle, where he enjoyed recreational trawling and crabbing. Above all of these he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a loyal friend and never met a stranger. He will forever live within our hearts. His family meant everything to him. Special thanks goes to Haydel Hospice and Dr. Brian Matherne. Henry J. Granier, 81, a native of Wallace and resident of Chackbay, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Friday, May 22, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Chackbay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Edgard. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Ann McCarthy Granier; children, Anthony Granier and spouse, Yvette, and Peggy G. Larousse and fiance, Jason Zeringue; brother, Vernon Granier; sisters, Noelie Theriot and Lucille Cortez; grandchildren, Rusty (Ashley), Ray (Haelee), Reed (Erika), Rickie (Brittany), Heather (Kendall), Magan (Cody), and Kylie; and great-grandchildren, Mason, Austin, Karson, Kynlee, Eli, Emily, Reese, Allie and Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albin and Noelie Granier; brothers, Warren, A.J. and Arthur Granier; and sisters, Rosalyn Hennan, Dorothy Ordoyne, Joyce Martinez and Dollie Mae Cortez. Henry was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was retired from St. John the Baptist Parish and was a member of Woodmen of the World. Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
