Mahler, Bertha (Boudreaux) - Chackbay  
Bertha Boudreaux Mahler, 79, a native and resident of Chackbay, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015. Visitation will be on Wednesday April 29, 2015 at Thibodaux Funeral Home Chapel from 8:00 am until funeral time. Religious services will be at 10:30 am at the funeral home with burial at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Chackbay. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, J.D. Mahler; daughters, Mollie Jones, son-in-law Ben Jones, and Kathy Ockmond, son-in-law Joe Ockmond. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Benjamin Jones, Jr. and fiancee' Kelly Granier, and Olivia Ockmond. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Anthony and Agnes Legendre Boudreaux. Bertha loved conversation with friends and family. Praying for others was her constant concern, and she wanted to make sure everyone was always taken care of and safe. She enjoyed cooking for her family every week as well as the occasional dining out at some of her favorite local restaurants for lunch. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be missed by all. Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Martin Jr., Anatole "A.D., Danny" - Houma  
Anatole D. "A.D." "Danny" Martin Jr., 89, a native and resident of Houma, passed away at 9:39 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until funeral time Saturday, May 2, at Mulberry Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Polly "Pauline"; sons, Dr. A.D. "Danny" Martin III and wife, Amy, and David L. Martin and wife, Connie; daughter, Karen and husband, Dr. Alan Weems; grandchildren, John and Katherine Weems; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Anatole and Agnes Matherne Martin; brothers, Dr. B. Joseph, Herbert, Robert, Clyde and Wesley Martin; and sisters, Lucille Cox, Maggie Bergeron, Alice Fleming, Yvonne Clark, Dorothy Carreker and Sylvia Martin. Danny was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church. He was a longtime educational leader in Louisiana where he served for 38 years as a teacher, coach, principal, supervisor and counselor of parents and students. He was an educational consultant for Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, the University of South Louisiana, and the Louisiana State Department of Education.
