Charles "Gramps" Braud Jr.

Charles J. "Gramps" Braud Jr., 93, a native of Napoleonville and resident of Thibodaux, passed away at his home Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Thibodaux . A Mass of
Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.
He is survived by his children, Myrna Guidry and husband, Luke, Geraldine "Geri" Caro and husband, Louis, Charles "Chilli" Braud III and wife, Gale, Robert "Bobby" Braud and wife, Brenda, and Cathy Creadeur and husband, Steve; 27 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy "Monie" Navarre Braud; parents, Charles Braud Sr. and wife, Lillian Guillot Braud; step-mother, Louise A. Braud; daughter, Jo Ann Roundtree; siblings, Hazel B. Rigamonti, Melvin Braud and Lillian B. Fuselier; and great-grandchildren,
Bennett Brown and Meagan Barrilleaux.
He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. In his spare time he enjoyed listening to country music and playing his guitar and harmonica. He loved to watch game shows, boxing and LSU and Saints football games on TV. He also loved doing woodwork as a carpenter. Spending time with his family and friends was an important part of his life and he will
be dearly missed by them.
