Lucia LeBoeuf Matherne, 83, a native and resident of Pointe-Aux-Chenes, died at 5:43 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2012.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to funeral time Thursday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Mass will be at noon Thursday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Patsy M. Toups and husband, Larry "Duke" Toups of Thibodaux, Doris M. Duplantis and husband, Duffy Duplantis Sr. of Houma, Nolan P. Matherne Jr. and wife, Donna Matherne of Chauvin, Dinah M. Payne and husband, James "Jim" Payne of Fort Mill, S.C., Trudy M. Matherne and husband, Elson Matherne Jr. of Houma, Sonia M. Pellegrin and husband, Thomas "Peanut" Pellegrin Jr. of Houma; 16 grandchildren, Tania Toups Benoit, Wendy Toups Caronna, Grace Toups Foreman, Shana-Rhea Duplantis Bergeron, Duffy "DJ" Duplantis Jr., Andre Matherne, John Matherne, Tate Matherne, Ashley Rodrigue, Franny Matherne, Brandi Matherne, Blake "Smiles" Pellegrin, James Payne, Michelle Escoto, Jeffrey Payne and Samatha Payne; 13 great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Beverly M. Miller of Choctaw.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan P. Matherne Sr.; her parents, Oleous LeBoeuf and Amelia Naquin LeBoeuf; one son, David P. Matherne; and one brother, Emile LeBoeuf.
She was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
She was an executive committee board member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Kenneth C. Boudreaux Unit 380.
She loved to crochet, quilt and sew and especially loved to be outdoors.
