Lula Ordogne Benoit, 88, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 8 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Landry's Funeral Home in Thibodaux. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Wayne Benoit and wife, Jan Naquin Benoit, and Dale Benoit; one daughter, Coleen Benoit Laiche and husband, A.J.; two sisters, Mable Martinez and Beulah Roger; seven grandchildren, Chasity Benoit Marie, Adam Benoit, Stephanie Benoit, James Benoit, Ginger Laiche Fritsche, Ryan Laiche and Jared Laiche; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Curvis H. Benoit; her parents, Alfred Ordogne and Nora Toups Ordogne; three brothers, Lawrence, Lester, and Clarence Ordogne; and two sisters, Enola Malbrough and Viola Naquin.
Lula was a loyal and dedicated member of the Catholic Daughters of America for more than 25 years. She was a participant at the House of Prayer and she had a kind heart and never met a stranger.
Landry's Funeral Home of Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements.
