Miller Adam Danos, 66, a native and resident of Larose, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He fought a courageous battle against cancer for three and a half years.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Samart Funeral Home in Cut Off. Visitation will also be from 10 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose. Mass will be at noon Thursday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mae Ann Lefort Danos; five sons, Chad and wife, Tika Matherne, of Baton Rouge, Tate and wife, Lisa Hebert of Larose, Shane Danos and partner, Steven Richardson of Charlotte, N.C., Monte and wife, Maria Hernandez of Baton Rouge, and Brannon and wife, Dana Edwards of Baton Rouge; five grandchildren, Cade, Alec, Micah, Madison and Sadie; one step-grandson, Jared Webster; sister, Rita Danos Graver and husband, Buddy of Luling; and a brother, the Very Rev. Dean Danos V.F. of Thibodaux.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nolan and Clara Belle Walker Danos.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors. He was a very loving father and cherished every moment he had with his family. He was heavily invested in his grandchildren.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church where he served as an Extra-Ordinary Minister of the Eucharist and Knights of Columbus Council 8898.
