Nolan Phillip LeCompte Jr., 77, a native and resident of Houma, died Friday, July 26, 2013.
A memorial service will be Thursday at noon in the Aquinas Center at Nicholls. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on the Nicholls campus.
He is survived by his brothers, Thomas D. LeCompte, of Houma, and Daniel P. LeCompte and wife, Patti McElroy LeCompte. of Richmond, Va.; and nieces and nephew, Angela LeCompte Mothes and husband, Carl, of Altonna, Wisc., Andre LeCompte, of Richmond, Va., and Danielle LeCompte, of Charletsville, Va.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nolan P. LeCompte Sr. and Hazel Boudreaux LeCompte; and companion, James Alton Cowan.
He was a professor at Nicholls for 32 years and retired as executive vice president for Academic Affairs. He was Professor Emeritus and a military veteran.
