Verlin Bonvillain

Verlin Joseph Bonvillain, 86, a native and resident of Houma, died at 2:49 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2013.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel Callahan Bonvillain, of Houma; sons, Mark Bonvillain and wife, Cindy, of Houma, Chris Bonvillain and wife, Carol, of Lafayette, and Gary Bonvillain and wife, Tiffany, of Houma; daughters, Jan Robichaux and husband, Bryan, of Bourg, Lisa Avet and husband, Sterling, of Houma, and Donna Mazarac and husband, Kevin, ofHouma; grandchildren, Brandi Dempster and husband, Jonathan, Joshua Heffker, Brad Robichaux, Scott Blanchard, Brett Triplett and husband, Andrew, Reed, Amy, Derek, Kelsey, Kyla and Alaina Bonvillain, and Paul and Ella Mazarac; great-grandchildren, Christopher Parfait, MaKayla Parfait, Dawson Collins, Brent Parfait, Kinslee Heffker, Jude Blanchard, London Castille; step-great-grandchild, Preslie Dempster; and sister, Miriam Bonvillain Hebert and husband, Vince.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dale Bonvillain; parents, Edgar and Ella Guidry Bonvillain; brothers, Hallie Bonvillain, Eulan Rodrigue, and Houston Rodrigue; and sisters, Hallet Moreaux, Madeline Gordon, Consuelo Mobley, Wilma Bonvillain Boudreaux and Grace Lyons; and infant sister, Doris Bonvillain.
Verlin was an oil field construction foreman with Pennzoil for 36 years.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict as a staff sergeant.
He was a lifelong bowler, hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the .
