Leroy Punch

Leroy Punch, 81, a native and resident of Lockport, passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Hazel LeBoeuf Punch; sons, Donald and wife, Melinda Matherne Punch, and Timmy Punch; grandsons, Travis Punch and wife, Sue, Jason Punch and companion, Sherry, Ted Punch and wife, Jessie, and Todd Punch; step-grandson, Toby Thibodaux; great-grandsons, Drake Leroy Punch and Jason Joseph Punch Jr.; great-granddaughter, Aubrey Lyn Punch; former daughter-in-law, Tammy Punch; brothers-in-law, Clarence Breaux and Lester Vedros; and sister-in-law, Edna Punch.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester Claude Punch and Anita Bergeron Punch; brothers, Odelie, Celement "Cam," Manny, Edmond, Nolan, Cleveland, Ecton "Black," and Warren; and sisters, Edna Rogers, Stella Breaux, Beulah Pitre, Mary Hoseapple, Velma Ford, and Verna Vedros.
Leroy worked in the oilfield and shipyards. He was a commercial fisherman and trapper. He liked helping his son in his seafood business, Punch's Seafood. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his friends and family, especially the great-grandchildren.
