Alaina Zeringue Arnold, a native of Luling, and a resident of Des Allemands, lost a seven-year, hard-fought battle against cancer at 4:24 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.
A Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Luling. She donated her body to LSU School of Medicine.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas F. Arnold; two sons, Donald Arnold and Daniel Arnold; mother, Barbara B. Zeringue; sister, Karen Saucier and husband, Stanward; brothers, Michael A. Zeringue and wife, Dianna, Brian J. Zeringue and wife, JoAnn, Kirk C. Zeringue and wife, Sandra, and Jeffrey P. Zeringue and wife, Mary Kay; five nieces; six nephews; one great-niece; and six great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles A. Zeringue Jr., and a great-nephew.
She will be remembered as an incredibly strong and courageous woman who in her quiet way inspired those around her by putting others before herself and suffering without complaining.
