Albert Joseph Loupe, 88, a native of Delta Farms and resident of Larose, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2014.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until funeral time Friday at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, Vern Loupe and wife, Mary, and their son, Jared, and Myron Loupe and wife, Debbie, and their children, Brian and Shana; daughters, Cindy L. Schexnayder and husband, Farrell, Lisa L. Plaisance and husband, Robby, and their children, Gregory and Brooke, and Kandra L. Ledet and husband, Rudy, and their children, Miranda, Maria, and Trace; sisters, Lillian Plaisance, Helen Hebert, Norma Ledet, Emily Melancon, Doris Cretini, Marie LeCompte and Amanda Lombas; step-grandchildren, Tiffany Griffin, and Amy and Gus Schexnayder; and great-grandchildren, Riley and Kyle Loupe.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Rebstock Loupe; parents, Edward J. Loupe Sr. and Amelia A. Loupe; brother, Edward Loupe Jr.; sister, Lou Emma Matherne; father and mother-in-law, Bussie and Avelia Rebstock; and brother-in-law, Roger "Jay" Rebstock.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, cattle farming, and gardening. He was U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in the Pacific Campaign. He was a member of VFW Post No. 8538 in Larose.
The family would like to thank his special caregivers, Carol Schacht and Roseanne Guidry, and all his family and friends who visited during his illness.
