Bobbie Joseph Dantin, 91, died at 2:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013. He was a native and long time resident of Raceland and current resident of Houma.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church in Raceland. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his children, Bob Dantin and wife, Janice, Brenda McKey and husband, Allen, and Kirk Dantin and wife, Rhonda; grandchildren, Jeremy Dantin and wife, Suzanne, Taylor Dantin, Reese Dantin and Claire Dantin; and great-grandchildren, R.J., Harrison, and Andrew and Ansley Dantin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Loupe Dantin; parents, Wilfred and Celemé Dantin; brothers, Bruce and Jules Dantin; and sisters, Mabel Bourgeois, Vivian Adams, Clothilde Maureaux, Jeannette Daigle, Juliette Chaisson, Bernice Dantin and Della Margiotta.
He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of VFW Post No. 3665. He had a passion for the outdoors, and loved and protected his family most of all. He will be dearly missed always.
Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
