Claude Richard Seago Sr. 83, a native of Joaquin, Texas, and resident of Houma, died Sunday, May 4, 2014.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at Samart Funeral Home in Houma. The United Veterans League will have a service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his wife, Janet B. Seago; son, Claude Seago Jr. and wife, Connie; daughters, Jackie S. Plessala and husband, Mike, and Jill S. Darsey and husband, Charles; brother, John Seago and wife, Anna Raye; sisters, Ann Hebert, Martha Guillotte, and husband, Arthur; brother-in-law, Wootsie Cenac; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Jean Henderson Seago; parents, Claude A. and Magarite Chevalier Seago; sister, Peggy Cenac; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Hebert.
Claude was a member of Unity Lodge No. 267, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps of the Korean Conflict, one of "The Chosin Few." He was retired from Texaco after 33 years as a drilling supervisor.
