Ernest L. Hebert Sr., 82, a native of Napoleonville, and resident of Gonzales, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at St. Anne Catholic Church in Napoleonville. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Aucoin Hebert; son, Ernest "Butch" Hebert Jr. and wife, Katie; daughters, Tina Perkins and husband, Joseph, and Arleen Domingue and husband, Randall; sisters, Marie Millet and Shirley Naquin; and five grandchildren, Blair and Reese Perkins, Tyler and Jacques Hebert, and Arielle Domingue.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Hebert and Irma Blanchard Hebert; son, Paul Henry Hebert; brothers, Robert, Ridley, and Felix Hebert; sisters, Pearl Simoneaux, Mae Aucoin, Pansy Cedotal, Levie Cavalier, Mildred LeBlanc, and Jeanne Talbot; and two grandchildren, Robert Hebert and Zachary Domingue.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served in the Korean Conflict. After returning from Korea, he attended Nicholls State University and was in the first graduating class there. He was a retired office manager with the State of Louisiana Department of Labor.
