Michael Louis Denning, 62, a native of Bobstown, Texas, and resident of Chauvin, died Saturday, March 22, 2014.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Deborrah Dupree Denning, of Chauvin; sons, Charles Darrell Daniels, of Chauvin, Dwayne Daniels, of Chauvin, Michael Louis Denning Jr. and wife, Felicia, of Chauvin, and Kevin Denning and wife, Chantelle, of Raceland; daughter, Denise Denning Toups and husband, John, of Houma; grandchildren, Kinsley Toups, Eli Toups, Preston Toups, Kamryn Denning, Maribeth Denning, Annie Grace Lirette-Bourg, Zoey Templet, and Jaxon Denning; and brothers, Donald, Chuck, Lloyd Dwayne, and Curtis Denning.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Denning and Vauldie Hodge Denning; son, Erwin Keith Denning; and brother, J.W. Denning.
He taught at Lacache Middle and Coteau Bayou Blue Schools. He served for nine years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, reaching the rank of staff sergeant. He was Boy Scout for more than 40 years and a baseball coach and umpire for TPR.
