Nolan J. "Knucklehead" Benoit Sr., 87, a native and resident of Thibodaux, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, surrounded by his children.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Friday at Thibodaux Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Thibodaux.
He is survived by his son, Nolan J. Benoit Jr. and wife, Elizabeth T. Benoit; daughters, Judy B. Chamberlain and husband, J.C., Mary B. Vedros and husband, Ricky, Pamela B. Aizen and husband, Jason, and Penny B. Legendre; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Frieda Hebert Benoit; grandsons, Heath Vedros and Jared Aizen; parents, Orestile Benoit and Leonie T. Benoit; brothers, Jessie, Norman and Roy; and sisters, Vergie B. Himel, Verine Benoit and Essie B. Thibodaux.
Nolan was a World War II veteran honored for his service with a Bronze Star. He was a member of the VFW.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
