William "Bill" C. Morris Jr., 76, a native of McAllen, Texas, and a resident of Houma, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012.

A memorial Mass will be held at noon Saturday at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, 138 Carroll St., Gibson. Burial will follow at St. Francis No. 2 Cemetery in Houma.
He is survived by his wife Neva Naquin Morris; son Christopher Morris; daughters, Leslie Ann Morris, Mora and husband Luis, Carole Lane Duplantis, Dana Lane Galbreath and husband Richard "Dick" Sr., and Rachel Lane Rogers and husband Jan; six grandchildren, Danielle Rogers Staehling and husband Dr. Ryan Staehling, Lane Rogers, Zachary Duplantis, Mia Bourg, Richard Galbreath Jr. and Hunter Mora; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Bessie Morris Sr.; sister Betty Jo Cenac and husband Carroll; and grandson Eric J. Rogers.
He had retired from Louisiana State Police, as a police officer, and the Louisiana National Guard. He had also retired from Terrebonne General Medical Center and Venture Trucking.
He was on the Houma Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board. He was also a member of the Louisiana State Troopers Association.
He served in the U.S. Army in Germany.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
