Enola "Nola" Vedros, 65, a native and resident of Napoleonville, was called home to the Lord Saturday, March 16, 2013.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Monday at Assumption Catholic Church in Plattenville. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Shelly "Pop" Vedros Jr. and his wife, Shanee Barrios Vedros; granddaughter, Sophia Vedros; sisters, Joyce Cavalier, Jeanne Bergeron, Suzanne Boudreaux, Alice Boudreaux, Lillian "Lilly" Templet, and Barbara "Bobbie" Thibodeaux; and sister in Christ Tina Cavalier.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Lillian Landry; brothers, Felix and Anthony "Tony" Landry; and sister, Shirley Cavalier.
Nola retired from the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office in 2002. Shortly after, she began her baby sitting career taking care of her babies, Shae, Livie, and Sophia.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, godmother, and aunt to many and a friend to all who knew her. She was also a devoted Alabama fan. She will be deeply missed.
The family would like to send their gratitude to the Rev. Paul Gros, the Rev. Robert Cruz, Pax Christi Healing Ministry, Dr. Charles Bolotte, Amytis Hospice Care and all the family and friends who supported and prayed for her. We thank God for each and everyone of you.
