Franklin "Big Sandy" Wayne Howery, 74, a native of Marshall, Mo., and resident of Schriever, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013. He was born on Feb. 25, 1938.
He is survived by his son, Clarence "C.W." Howery; brother, Van R. Howery; sister, Margaret "Marge" S. Oehlschlaeger; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice Moody Howery Shepard and Clarence V. Howery; stepfather, Woodrow Shepard; and brother, Harold D. Howery.
Special thanks to Battery Empire II, Ron and Donna Kelley, Jeff and Gena, and his friends at Wilson's Country Corner. He will be missed by his many friends. He was well liked, especially by his friends at the "Pit Stop."
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
