Freddie "PaPa" August Jr., 70, a native and resident of Belle Rose, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at St. James United Methodist Church in Belle Rose. Visitation will also be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at Williams and Southall Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in St. James Methodist Church Cemetery in Belle Rose.
He is survived by five daughters, Joushlyn August of California, Stephanie B. Harris of St. Rose, Charlotte B. Noel of Atlanta, Ga., Leslie A. Brown of LaPlace and Terry A. Brown of Austell, Ga.; three sons, Kevin August of Donaldsonville, Calvin August of Caliornia, and Darren Brown of Baton Rouge; three brothers, Albert (Josie) Harris of Plano, Texas, Louis Pearley of New Orleans, and Glenn August of Belle Rose; seven sisters, Laura Mae Rodrigue of Gretna, Brenda (the Rev. William) Jackson of LaPlace, Marion (Otis) Williams of Donaldsonville, Beverly Jordan of Donaldsonville, Mildred (Clarence) Williams of Prairieville, Patricia August of Dallas, Texas, and Elsie (Allen) Parker of New Orleans; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Freddie August Sr.; and two sisters, Catherine Brown and Delta August.
Williams and Southall Funeral Home in Donaldsonville is in charge of arrangements.
