Jean "Jeanie" Claire Lasseigne, 77, a native and resident of Houma, died at 10:55 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald J. Lasseigne; daughters, Cindy Lasseigne Chauvin and husband, Paul, and Vicki Lasseigne Falgoust and husband, Keith; grandchildren, Connely "C.J." J. Chauvin, Nicholas Falgoust and Lauren Falgoust; sisters, Elaine Daigle Porche and the late Arthur Porche, and Mary Susan Daigle Thibodaux and husband, James Sr.; many nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Joseph Daigle and Victoire Theriot Daigle; father and mother-in-law, Wilton "Bill" Lasseigne Sr. and Ethel Babin Lasseigne; and godmother, Amelia Daigle Jackson.
Jeanie was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. She worked for many years at Citizen's Bank. She graduated from Nicholls State University and became a registered nurse. She worked for 40 years as a nurse at Terrebonne General Medical Center and Nursing Care.
Jeanie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were her life.
