Roy Thibodeaux

Roy E. Thibodeaux, 87, a native of Chauvin and a resident of Houma, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Betty O. Trahan Thibodeaux; four daughters, Veralyn Price and husband Jimmie, Sandra Machen and husband Robert, Judy Theriot and husband Herman and Jeannie Louviere; two step daughters, Sherry Blanchard and husband Kenneth, and Vicki Guy and husband Glynn; three step sons, Aubry Trahan Jr. and wife, Mary, Robin Trahan and wife, Loretta,, and Gerard Trahan; 12 grandchildren, Jimmie Price Jr. and wife Amy, Trisha Unbehagen Lapeyrouse and husband Jerome, Josie Breaux and husband Brian, Ryan Roberts and wife Tricia, Rebecca Roberts and companion Dave Domangue, Tina Theriot, Shane Theriot and wife Maria, Brett Theriot and wife Kim, Ross Louviere and wife Becky, Kenny Louviere and wife Heather, and Kelly and Kiley Louviere;

11 step grandchildren, Kenneth Blanchard Jr., Becky Bernard, Timothy Blanchard, Aubry Trahan III, Brent Trahan, Sherry Creekmore, Robin Gayle Foret, Stephen Trahan, Kitty Arceneaux, Glynn Guy Jr., and Lindsey Guy and 15 great-grandchildren, Ashley and Erica Price, Evan Unbehagen, Ian and Caleb Breaux, Tyler and Tanner Roberts, Abby and Drew Theriot, Brennan and Kally Theriot, Harley and Halle Louviere, Sage and Myles Louviere; and 25 step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Leola Blanchard Thibodeaux; his parents, Paul and Felecia Henry Thibodeaux; one brother, Hewitt Thibodeaux; five sisters, Hazel Robichaux, Stella Neil, Della Fanguy, Ouida Lecompte and Bella Fanguy; one grandson, Jeffrey Unbehagen; one granddaughter, Jill Marie Roberts; and one great-grandson, Andre Unbehagen.

He was a charter member and past president of the Chauvin Lions Club, a former member and officer of Woodman of the World of Chauvin, and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was of the original Lagnippe of the Bayou Singers and played the washboard.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a self educated and successful businessman. He was dedicated to his community and his church. He was an inspiration to his family and friends.
