Theodore "Teddy" Gravois departed this life at age 96 on Dec. 19, 2012. He was a native of Vacherie, and a lifelong resident of St. James Parish.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Phillip Catholic Church in Vacherie. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Audrey Simon Gravois; son, Dewey Gravois and wife, Jackie; daughter, Claudette Davis and husband, Michael; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Theodore Gravois and Clothilde Rodrigue Gravois.
He was a veteran of WWII. He retired from St. James Sugar Loop after 38 years, where he was an office manager and accountant.
He was a parishioner of St. James Catholic Church and recently St. Philomena Catholic Church in Labadieville. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, and he loved gardening and volunteering. He played golf into his 90s.
