William E. "Bill" Wells, 83, a native of Strong, Ark., and resident of Larose, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off. Military honors will be at 10 a.m. Saturday by the United Veterans League at the funeral home, with burial in Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Eddie Joye Wells; son, Hank Wells and wife, Paula; stepson, Jamon Franks; brother, Allen Wells; grandchildren, Brant Wells, Tyler Wells, Randy Wells, April G. Tatum, Lillie Guidroz, Jeremiah Guidroz, Torrey Guidroz, Julliene G. Leyva, Frannie Guidroz, Rhonda Richmond, Jimmy "Jimbo" Richmond, Stormy Franks and Harlie Adams, 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lilly Rose Wells; parents, Jessie and Johnie Wells; son, Keith Guidroz; daughter, Gerry Ann Guidroz Richmond; and sister, Dolyne Wells Woods.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, an avid golfer and loved hunting and fishing. After 40 years, he retired from the oil field.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
