Eustis John Champagne, 80, a native of Theriot and resident of Houma, died at 12:03 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home and a military service held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Eloi Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Earl Champagne and wife, Anne, Willard Champagne and wife, Bonnie, Galdys C. Voisin and Brussel, Gloria C. Thibodeaux, Henry Champagne and wife, Ann, Carlton Champagne and wife, Paula, Dorothy C. Dishman, and Audrey C. Croom and husband, Harry; sister-in-law, Brenda Thibodeaux Champagne; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis A. Champagne and Justine Callahan Champagne; brothers, Horace Champagne and Roy Champagne Sr.; nephew, Michael Champagne; sisters-in-law, Betty Falgout Champagne and Joyce Chauvin Champagne; brothers-in-law, Earl Thibodeaux and David L. Dishman; maternal grandparents, Evance Callahan and Felicia Dumond Callahan; and paternal grandparents, Aurestile and Matilda Duplantis Champagne.
He was a parishioner of St. Eloi Catholic Church and Annunziata Catholic Church. He retired from McDermott after many years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
