Robert Elmo Stutts Jr., 74, a native of Huntsville, Texas and resident of Bourg, died at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Ann Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol Stutts of Bourg; sons, Steven Joe Stutts and wife, Cindy, of Bourg, David Wayne Stutts and friend, Vickie W. of Aurora, Colo. and Brian Keith Stutts and wife, Melissa Crowell, of Rocklin, Calif.; sister, Sally Jane Pittman of Bedias, Texas; grandchildren, Thomas Stutts, Jessie Stutts, Julie Stutts, Samantha Stutts, Robbie Stutts, Stephanie Stutts, Kyle Stutts, Shelby Stutts, Kevin Stutts, and Kaitlin Stutts; and close friends and family, Hugh Martin, Melissa Davis, Lowell Martin, Bobby Pittman and Johnny Pittman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nita Curry Stutts; brother, John Don Stutts; sister, Samuella Sue Martin; and brother-in-law, John Pittman of Bedias, Texas
He was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church and member of Dresser Atlas for 25 years.
He was a devoted husband for 54 years to Carol. He loved his family and grandchildren dearly. He was a loyal friend to many. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Saint Ann Catholic Church in Bourg to help in their community building project.
