Mabel Gonzales

Mabel Benoit Gonzales, 90, a native of Donner and resident of Thibodaux, died on June 11, 2012.

Visitation will be at 9 am until funeral time on June 13, 2012 at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Thibodaux. Mass will be held at 11am. at the church followed by a burial at St Joseph Cemetery.

She is survived by her sons, Terry Gonzales and wife Christine, Gerald Gonzales and wife Kim, daughter, Debra G. Thibodaux, brother, Roy Benoit and wife Bernice, sisters, Pearl Offan and husband Ken, and Agnus Breaux, sister-in-law, Rose Benoit, grandchildren, Anita Rothman and husband Chad, Mitchell Thibodeaux and wife Mindy, Carl Thibodaux and wife Sheri, Kerry Thibodaux and wife Jamie, Jordie Gonzales, Stevie Gonzales, Kiley Gonzales, Travis Gonzales, and Alicia Gonzales, 22 great-grandchildren, and 6 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Junius Gonzales, her parents, Wallace and Anita Bourgeois Benoit, brother, Harry Benoit, brother-in-law, Earnest Breaux, and one grandchild.

She enjoyed weekends in Grand Isle with family, cooking, Saturday mornings with Garland's (Moe's) music, special functions at Lafourche Home, and spending time with her family.

The family wishes to offer special thanks to Lafourche Home and the staff of Haydel Hospice.

Thibodaux Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
