Samuel Robinson
Samuel Joseph Robinson, 75, died Wed., June 13, 2012 at 7:23 PM.
He was a native of Gray, LA and resident of Thibodaux, LA.
Visitation will be held on Sun., June 17, 2012 from 6 pm until 9 pm, Mon., June 18, 2012 from 3 pm until 9 pm with a Masonic service being held at 7 pm and Tues., June 19, 2012 from 8 am until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc.
Funeral Service will be held on Tues., June 19, 2012 at 11 am at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
He is survived by his, wife, Anita Perez Robinson, Thibodaux, LA, daughter, Angela Robinson and husband Alexander Paton, Gray, LA,
daughter in law, Debra Robinson James and husband Charles Franklin James, grandchildren, Michael Edward Robinson, Jr., Dayton Paul Robinson and wife Rebecca Johnson Robinson, Samantha J. Morris and husband David Bourgeois, Danny Preston Morris, Jr., Jordan Joseph Morris and wife Savannah Carlos Morris, great grandchildren, Summer Skye Torres, Brianna Kay Robinson, Joaquin Alejandro Torres, Rhilee Ray Morris, Logan Edward Robinson, Abagaile Ann Morris, Julianna Carol Robinson, brother, Charles Ray Robinson, sisters, Anita Gay and Gloria Maxfield.
He was preceded in death by his,
parents, Percy Paul Robinson and Elnora Philemon Champagne Robinson, son, Michael Edward Robinson, Sr., brothers, Edwin Robinson and Paul Robinson.
Samuel entered in to the United States Army on June 25, 1956. He served two tours in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. While serving he received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Mechanics Badge, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic Vietnam Cross of Gallantry and Meritorious Service Medal. He retired from the service on November 30, 1975 as a Chief Warrant Officer W-3.
After his military retirement form the military Samuel taught automotive mechanics at the Vocational Technical School in Thibodaux.
His hobbies included restoring classic cars and upholstery work. He was also a freelance inventor. He was a Mason at the Thibodaux Lodge and a life coach for people suffering with cancer. He gave speeches on Veterans Day about the meaning of the military and patriotism. He was a very devout Christian.
