Elvin Hayward Harris, 77, died on Thurs, June 28, 2012.
Visitation is from 8:30 a.m. until 9 am. on Thurs., July 5, 2012 with funeral services from 10 am. to 11 am. at New Mount Zion Baptist Church, 922 Goode Street, Houma, La. Rev. Blaine Clay officiating. Interment will be at South Down Cemetery, Houma.
Husband of the late Zenobia Matthews Harris. Former husband of Bertha Jones Harris. Son of the late Willie and Carrie Taylor Harris. Father of Paula Harris (Barry) Jones, Darlene (Clarence) McGuire, Sylvia (Kevin) Brown, Diane and Linda Matthews, Catherine Carter, Martha Jones, Christopher (Kenya) Harris, Stafford, Herbert, and Andrew Matthews, Donald (Verna) Jones, and the late Alvin and Ronald Matthews. Brother of Vera Lawson of St. Paul, MN, Willie Harris, Albert Harris, Harold Harris and the late Rita Walker, Elma Owens, and Lester, Ophelia, and Anita Harris.
