Patsy "Pat" Eschete, 80, a native and resident of Houma, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church . A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Nolan Paul Eschete Jr.; sons, Stacy M. Eschete and wife Robin, Kevin Eschete and fiancée Allison Victorian; brothers, Charles Hurst Jr. and William "Billy" Hurst; grandchildren, Ricky Paul Eschete, Courtney Eschete Miley, Jamie Eschete Wommack, Stephanie Ann Eschete, Leigh Eschete Pierre, Scott Eschete, Tony Eschete, Charles Eschete, Jacob Hadley, Christopher Eschete; 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Sr. and Inez Hurst; sons, Charles Eschete and Stephen Eschete.
Moved to Houma at 17 years old from Pine Tree Texas and graduated Terrebonne High School in 1950. Married her high school sweetheart and raised four boys, remained active in her local Methodist church , continued her education later and began a fulltime career as a nurse in her 40s and continued nursing until she retired at age 62.
She and her husband of 59 years remained active in the First United Methodist Church - where she sang in the choir every Sunday until her death.
She was loved by everyone for her kindness, beautiful voice , delicious lemon pie, love of music, food, family, and culture.
The world has lost a beautiful face, voice, cook, wife, mother, grandmother ,and friend.
