Pauline Taylor Charles, a native and resident of Lockport, departed this life on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at the age of 94.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Greater New Fountain Baptist Church in Lockport. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by a son, Willie "Tony" Staples; husband, Sidney Charles; grandchildren Lorraine Staples, Darren (Maria) Staples, Marvin (Cansandra) Staples, Rachael (Alonzo) Wilson-Pitre, Jarvis Wilson, Karl Wilson, and Shaketa Wilson; a sister, Geraldine Green; 21 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Maudest Taylor; six brothers, Sullivan Taylor, Nolan Taylor, Joseph Taylor Jr., Van Taylor, Landry Boudreaux and Benjamin Taylor; and two sisters, Evelyn Edwards and Beatrice Mack.
She was a business owner in Lockport for many years and will be lovingly remembered for her quick wit. She will be truly missed by all. She was a member of Greater New Fountain Baptist Church.
Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
