Donald Ray "Duck" Dangerfield, 59, a native of Thibodaux, and a resident of Ft. Worth, Texas, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012.
The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Thibodaux. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Lionel Griffin, pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Donald Ray Dangerfield was born to Alex L. Dangerfield Sr. and Evelyn Dangerfield on June 4,1953 in Baton Rouge. He graduated from Thibodaux High School in 1972 where he was a member of the varsity basketball
team. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1972 and served until 1979 when he received an honorable discharge. He attended Nicholls State University, and in
2011, he received a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from Texas Wesleyan University in Ft. Worth, Texas.
He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Jeanelle Nicole Dangerfield (born during his marriage to Janice Grisby), Tamara (William) Bolden
McKinley of Des Allemands, and Kyla Smith of New Orleans; one son, Delvin Williams of Gray; his mother, Evelyn Elam Dangerfield of Thibodaux; three
brothers, Alex L. Dangerfield Jr. of Thibodaux, Larry Dangerfield of Oakland, Calif., and Lloyd (Desiree) Dangerfield of Lafayette; one uncle, Milton (Brenda) White of Gray; and an uncle-in-law, Henry Brown of Thibodaux; three nieces, Pamela Dangerfield of Houma, Cicely S. Moore of Baton Rouge and Christina
Dangerfield of Oakland; one covenant niece, Erica (Ron) G. Warner of Houston, Texas; two nephews, Eric Dangerfield of La Place and Aaron Dangerfield of
Lafayette; two very special first cousins, Johnny Ray Brown and Sherrie Brown Streams of Thibodaux; a special cousin, Sadie Smith; several grandnieces
and grandnephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alex L. Dangerfield Sr.; his brother, Joseph Dangerfield; his aunt, Ruth Brown; his grandmother, Barbara White; his
grandfather, Henry Joseph Elam; his great-grandmother, Susie White; his paternal grandparents, Jules and Susanna F. Dangerfield; his paternal uncles, William and Joseph Dangerfield; and his paternal aunt, Julia D. Jackson.
