James D. "J.D." Henderson


James D. "J.D." Henderson, 86, a native of LeCompte and a resident of Hessmer, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 at Ocshner Medical Center in Kenner.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruby Wall Henderson; his children, Gary Henderson and wife, Cheryl, Wanda Henderson Grundman and husband, Terry, Allen Henderson and wife, Lita, and Ivan Henderson and wife, Cheryl; his grandchildren; and his great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Brady McElwee; his stepfather, Fayette McElwee; sister, Theda McNitzky; and brother, Allen Henderson.
He was a retired wireline operator in the oilfield.
He was a World War II veteran with the U.S. Marine Corps. He also served three years in the U.S. Navy.
L.A. Muhleisen and Son Crematory in Kenner is in charge of arrangements.
