John was a sinner, saved by grace, who loved to share Jesus with everyone he met. He preached the Gospel for the past 27 years pastoring churches in Kansas, Mississippi, Vacherie, Montegut, Grand Bois, and for the past 9 years at Gibson Baptist Church in Gibson.
He had a genuine love and concern for everyone he met. He thought of his wife and children before himself and always had time for anyone who needed anything.
He graduated from Thibodaux High School in 1970.
His family was a great source of joy to him but his ultimate joy and hope he found in his personal relationship with Christ. His greatest prayer was that everyone know the peace and hope that can only be found in Christ.
He loved spoiling his grandson who was a ray of sunshine in his life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, Tenn. 37214-0800 or to Gibson Baptist Church.
