John Kole Farmer, 14, a native of Marietta, Ga., and resident of Houma, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray.
He is survived by his father, Charles "Kirk" Farmer Jr., of Houma; mother, Melissa Smith Sykes; brothers, Charles Kirk Farmer III and Kagan Farmer; sisters, Kayli and Kimber Farmer; grandparents, Charles and Joan Farmer, and Julia and John Norton; uncles and aunts, Duane Farmer and wife, Christina, Lisa Bergeron and husband, Kirk, Jamie Farmer and companion, Beth Laurin, and Joey Farmer and wife, Cheryl; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Smith.
He was an eighth-grader and honor roll student at Houma Junior High School. He enjoyed playing many sports and loved scootering and skateboarding.
