Ruby Maxine Bankson, 90, formerly of Houma and a resident of Alexandria, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at the Grace Home in Alexandria.

Visitation will be from noon until funeral time Saturday at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Alexandria. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Bankson officiating. Burial will be in Flactor Cemetery in Hicks. Pallbearers will be Clay Bankson, Jeffrey Bankson, Collin Cox, Eric Parker, Chris Parker, Justin Bankson, and Chantz Bankson. Honorary pallbearer will be Valerie Hasic.
She is survived by her daughters, Sallie Peters and Carolyn Cox; brother, Bruce Oser; son, Bobby Bankson; sisters, Lucille Jones, Minnie Bonner, and Barbara Johnson; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stafford Bankson; son, Marion Bankson; her parents; and grandson, Jared Cox.
She was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church in Houma. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and a homemaker.
