Garland C. "Peanut" Dufrene, 73, a native of Bridge City and resident of Raceland, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Monday at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Yvonne Breaux Dufrene; son, Shawn Dufrene and wife, Amy; sister, Andrea Dufrene Matranga and husband, Mark; and grandchildren, Tyler and Brader Dufrene.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Dufrene; and mother, Rita Champagne Dufrene.
Garland enjoyed fishing and was a licensed barber. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and an all around good guy.
