Leroy W. Ordoyne, 82, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Landry's Funeral Home in Thibodaux and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Friday at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, Mark (Cathy) Ordoyne, of Houma, and Matthew P. Ordoyne, of Orlando, Fla.; daughter, Mary E. Ordoyne, of Thibodaux; grandchildren, Christopher M. Ordoyne, of New Orleans, and Victoria Ordoyne Thomas, of Houma; great-granddaughter, Annabelle C. Thomas; sister, Clarabel Ordoyne; longtime companion, Barbara L. Gauthier, of Thibodaux, and her children, Mary Gauthier, Michael Gauthier, and Mrs. Michael (Michelle) Heinz, and her grandchildren, Michael Heinz, Nick Heinz, and Emily Heinz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Stella Torres Ordoyne; son, Michael J. Ordoyne; brother, Daniel Ordoyne; and sister, Lois Summers.
Leroy was a parishioner of St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. He was a graduate of Thibodaux College and a 1954 graduate of the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Sciences. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He is the retired general manager and funeral director for Landry's Funeral Home and Thibodaux Funeral Home. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed going to the camp, cooking and traveling.
