Marie "Yvette" Baldwin Seal was born Nov. 4, 1927, and passed away Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014. She passed away peacefully at her home after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. Thursday until funeral time at Falgout Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Chaplain Marcel officiating. Burial will be in Terrebonne Memorial Park Mausoleum.
She is survived by her son, Lawton A. Seal Sr., and wife, Janet; daughter, Maxine Verret; grandchildren, Lawton A. Seal II, Ryan Wright and Cindy, Ron Wright and Heather, Jerrie Graves and Jeff, Kayleen Valure and David, and Max Kyle Seal and Kaegan; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Yvette was preceded in death by her husband, Max Kenneth Seal; mother, Viola Robicheaux; and father, Frank Baldwin.
Yvette worked for many years in retail sales and as a bookkeeper. She and her husband owned a corner gas station on Main Street in Houma for more than 40 years. Yvette was an outgoing, loving person. She was devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reaping tremendous pleasure from the many hours she spent caring for them. She had a passion for her belief in the Lord and never missed an opportunity to spread the word of salvation through Jesus Christ.
Special recognition and appreciation is given to Yvette's long time live-in caregiver, Kellie Templet Pierre, and her family, who devoted herself to the well being and care of Mrs. Seal.
The family also would like to thank Hospice of South Louisiana for their assistance.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Baptist Children's Home.
