Lora Bennett Deligans, who was born in Gowen, Okla., but resided in Houma most of her adult life, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014, in Houma.

A Christian church service to celebrate her life will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mulberry Baptist Church. A private burial will be at a later date in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Billy R. Deligans Jr. and wife, Pennie, and Timothy Deligans; daughter, Paula Duplantis and husband, Eric; grandchildren, Ravyn, Gabrielle, and Timothy Deligans, Rachael Haddad, Keith and Jeffrey Duplantis, and Erin Stroud; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Billy Deligans; parents, Emmett and Alta McAtee Bennett; son, Keith Bennett Deligans; granddaughter, Willow Elizabeth Deligans; infant brother, William Bennett; and sisters, Osa Hunt, Marie Morris, and Mildred Dunn; and Baby Bennett.
Lora was a charter member of Mulberry Baptist Church and had served as a Bible study teacher for more than 70 years. She had also served as church treasurer for many years. Her church, family, and friends were her greatest joys in life. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Bell Tower Fund, Mulberry Baptist Church, 2025 Bayou Black Drive, Houma, LA 70360.
