James Girard Mire, 61, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 14, 2014, after a lengthy illness.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at Our Lady of Divine Providence Church in Metairie. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Donna Gilmore Mire; brothers, Denis (Beverly), Michael (Maria), John (Rose), and Peter; sisters, Sister Miriam (Ann), Evelyn (Tommy), Janet, and Marilyn (Ronnie); sister-in-law, Carol Mire; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Mire Sr. and Lucille d'Aquin Mire; and brother, Andrew Mire Jr.
James was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Divine Providence in Metairie.
The family wishes to express special thanks to everyone who had been a part of James' life throughout the years. God bless you all!
