Lila Jean Poe Pierson, 90, a native of Akron, Ohio, and resident of Thibodaux, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at St. John's Episcopal Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Michael S. Pierson and wife, Lady; daughter, Ronna Pierson Bulera; brother, Richard Poe; sisters, Ruth Poe Edenhart and Linda Poe Sunder; grandchildren, Michael J. Bulera and wife, Carol, Deborah Bulera, and Jason Bulera; and great-grandson, Michael Jared Bulera.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, the Rev. Roland S. Pierson; father, Stephen B. Poe; mother, Grace Blair Poe; brother, Dale Poe; and sisters, Elaine Poe and Fern Poe Driver.
Lila was a member of the Associates of the Sisters of the Holy Nativity and the Episcopal Women of St. John's Episcopal Church. She served in the U.S. Women's Army Corps during World War II.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to Episcopal Church Women of St. John's Episcopal Church.
