Collin "Shorty" J. Chouest, 46, a native and resident of Galliano, died Monday, July 14, 2014.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mechelle Bouvier Chouest; parents, Noles "Butch" Chouest and Beverly Eymard Chouest; brother, Shane Chouest; sister, Chantel C. Pitre; daughter, Miley Bouvier; grandmother, Sarah Eymard; brothers-in-law, Brian Bouvier, Ferte Bouvier, Curtis Bouvier, and Marty Pitre; sisters-in-law, Angel Chouest, Christina Bouvier, and Mary Bouvier; nephews; Shane Chouest, Dillon Bouvier, Jayden Bouvier, Trevor Bouvier, Zachary Bouvier, and Justin Thompson; nieces, Olivia Pitre, Destiny Bouvier, and Amy Bouvier; friends, Sara Terrebonne and Donavan Terrebonne; and in-laws, Irwin Bouvier and Joyce Bouvier.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Collin Eymard and Joseph Chouest; grandmother, Ophelia Chouest; and mother-in-law, Helen Bouvier.
Collin was a third and fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 3150.
