Warren Clausen

Warren J. Clausen, 84, a native of Franklin and resident of Thibodaux, died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Thibodaux. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Matirne Clausen; five children, Warren Clausen and wife, Cynthia, Marc Clausen and wife Debra, Karen Becnel and husband, Donald, Brian Clausen and wife, Mary, and Lori Duet and husband, Scott; 12 grandchildren, Michelle Clausen Boudreaux, Nicol Clausen, Jeremy Clausen, Adam Becnel, Gregory Becnel, Jean Becnel, Elise Becnel Vincent, Samuel Clausen, Sarah Clausen, Colt Duet, Guy Duet and Beau Duet; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley C. Paul and husband, Ray; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Peter Clausen and Bernice Allbritton Clausen.

He retired with more than 40 years of service from Southern Pacific Railroad. He was a Mason, a member of the Kiwanis Club, a charter member of the Schriever and St. John Volunteer Fire Departments and served in the Navy during World War II.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
