Ivy Hebert Obituary
Ivy Anthony Hebert Sr., 92, a native and resident of Chauvin, died Thursday, May 3, 2012.
Visitation will from 1 p.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin. Mass will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery..
He is survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Lois Chauvin Crochet; daughter, Evelyn H. LeBoeuf and companion, Leroy Billiot; sons, Ivy A. Hebert Jr. and wife, Shirley, Robert Hebert and wife, Marlene, and Errol Hebert and wife, Janet; daughter-in-law, Janice Hebert; stepchildren, Lucille D. Shadell, Yvonne Tranhan and Iona D. Gray; brothers, Henry "Pinky" Hebert, Wallace "Chickie" Hebert, Aaron Hebert, Reis Hebert, Amos Hebert, Peter "Pete" Hebert; sister, Clara H. Neil; grandchildren, Myra, Craig, Denise, Johnathan, Grant, Kim, Ryan, Travis, Sunshine, Brandon and Heather; and great-grandchildren, Joshua, Brittany, Jacob, Madison, Olivia, Preston, Nyla, Dylan Michael, Whitney, Blake, Dylan Kyle, Raegan, and Dylan Lee Lawless.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Loupe Hebert; mother, Julienne Duplantis Hebert; father, Henry Hebert; son, Kenneth Hebert; one infant daughter; grandchildren, Todd Hebert, Curtis Hebert and Garret LeBoeuf; great-grandchild, Braydon Hebert; stepson, Marvin Dupre; brothers, William Hebert, Walter Heert, Russell "Coco" Hebert, Maurice Hebert and Junius "Bud" Hebert; and sisters, Frances Hebert and Lois H. Crochet.
He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin. His hobbies were building swings and furniture, and gardening. He ran tug boats for Cenac Towing Co. and a boat builder with Quality Shipyards.
He was loved by all who knew him. He was a kind and giving person, devoted to his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
His family would like to thank Dr. Russel Henry and his nursing staff for their diligence in his treatment and care. Dr. Gamble and nurses, especially BJ for their compassion and Heritage Manor for keeping his final days as comfortable as possible.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.

Paw Paw Ivy i will miss u but i know u are with my grandmother Agnes and holding her hand, i remember going to the house and picking potatoes out of the garden and other things. i am very blessed to have known u growing up because u were the only grandfather i knew. I love u and will miss u deeply.

I know for a fact that I'll miss Mr. Ivy. He was such a WONDERFUL FATHER. Alway a pleasure to be around and always a pleasure to talk with. He was the kindest man I every met in my life. I know that I'll definately miss his prescence, but knowing that he's with GOD in his heavely kindow so high, brings comfort to me and all his children and grandchildren. Rest in Eternal Peace.

PawPaw Ivy you touched so many lives in your 92 years. You will be greatly missed. You left behind quite a legacy in your children, GrandChildren and GreatGrandchildren. I am happy and proud to have been part of your family and be able to share in your stories of your younger days. I loved to see you and Craig's eyes light up and your faces so full of animation when you guys talked about what used to be. Those heartfelt memories are what we will all hold onto now that you have recieved your wings and are watching down on all of us. Your pain is gone and you are free to shine in God's everlasting glory!!! You were a great man and you will never be forgotten. I know Mrs. Agnes and all of our loved ones that went on before you were waiting at the gate to greet you and some day we will all join you in Gods beautiful Heaven!!!
