Alton Alleman

Alton John Alleman, 60, a resident of Houma, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 after a long battle with lung cancer.

Visitation will be held on Monday, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., and Tuesday, from 9 a.m. until Service time at St. Eloi Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, at 11 a.m. at St. Eloi Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2

He is survived by his, wife of 38 years, Lynne Hebert Alleman; two daughters, Shawn Alleman Smith and husband Shawn Smith and Bethany Alleman Gentry and husband Colby Gentry; two grandchildren, Reese and Grant Smith; his mother, Elda Templet Alleman; mother-in-law, Phyllis N. Hebert; six sisters, Joann A. Olivier (Elton), Marylin A. Porche (Glenn), Melva A. Kelpsch (Dale), Valarie A. Porche, Ella A. Rhodes (Bryan), Elda A. Glover (Ernest); two sisters in law, Wanda H. Ledet and Laurie H. Ashley;

two brothers, Clenese "Sonny" Alleman, Jr (Tami), Gary Alleman (Annette); three brothers in law, Wayne T. Hebert (Jeanette), David L. Hebert (Ginger), and Mark R. Hebert (Beth), two god daughters, Michelle O. Jordan and Tristen Heber.t

He was preceded in death by his, father, Clenese Alleman, Sr.; father-in-law, Emanuel "Buddy" Hebert; his brothers-in-law, Barry Porche and Randy Ledet.

He was a parishioner of St. Eloi Catholic Church and St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.

He was a retired boat captain from Louisiana Land & Exploration.
