The Guest Book is expired.
Carl Andrew Marcel 76, a native of New Orleans, a former resident of Houma and a current resident of Bayou Visit, passed away at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 from A.M.G. Specialty Hospital while surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houma. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, with burial in the church cememtery.
He is survived by his daughter, Scarlette Marie Marcel and companion John Zant and his two children of Lafayette; his fiancee, Elma Pierce and her two daughters, Dawn P. Townsend and Danette P. LeMaire; his sisters, Sylvia Matherne and late husband Charles, Barbara Sullivan and late husband David, and Lydia Colvin; one bother, Wayne P. Marcel and wife, Rowena; one brother-in-law, Alvin Robichaux Sr.; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Marcel Sr. and Genevieve Theresa Berthelot Marcel; two brothers, Lee Marcel Jr. and Ronald Marcel and wife Joyce; two sisters, Marilyn Marcel Falgout and husband Gerald and Brenda Marcel Robichaux.
He was a member and parishioner of St. Bernadette of Bayou Vista and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He owned a Yellow Cab Company, then worked in construction and in the oil field. He also served in the Army Reserve for two years and in the Marine Corps for four years.
He was a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League and loved doing Toys for Tots and playing Santa Claus.
Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
