Tom will be missed by his family, including his devoted and faithful wife, Loretta Blalock; his children, Sherry Mays and husband, Michael, Nancy Roundtree, and Thomas Blalock Jr. and wife, Peggy; grandchildren, Dean Lirette and wife, Brandy, Robbi Gouaux, Tara Adams and husband, John, Brent Roundtree, Tommy Blalock and wife, Nikki, and Brandon Roundtree and wife, Rachael; and seven great-grandchildren.
Tom was born on December 13, 1923 in Walkerville, Ark., where he grew up as an only child. He learned his strong work ethic from his parents, Colie and Mary Blanch Blalock, on the family farm. Tom attended Walkerville High School where he was a star basketball player. He left Arkansas to join the U.S. Navy, meeting the love of his life, Loretta, with whom he just celebrated 68 years of marriage on Easter Sunday. His job with Exxon brought him to Houma, where he has made his home for more than 50 years. After 32 years with Exxon, Tom retired and enjoyed life, traveling and making memories with his family, fishing at his favorite place, Toledo Bend, and caring for his dogs and parakeets. Tom made friends everywhere he went, and most of all, Tom loved his family.
Tom was thankful for so many people who touched his life. Special thanks goes to the angels of the Suites at Sugar Mill Point and Haydel Memorial Hospice for their care and love as he passed from this life to the next.
