Velma Usé Hebert, 96, a resident of Thibodaux, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013. She was born in Schriever March 18, 1917.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Friday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m.Friday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her daughters, Madeline Hebert and Yvonne Kemp; son, Murphy Hebert and wife, Suzonne; sister, Ouida Doucet; grandsons, Lance, Scott and Charles Hebert, and Robert Kemp; granddaughter, Anne Kelley Kemp LeBlanc; and great-grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Alyssa, Ethan, Blake and Braden Hebert.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Scuddy J. Hebert; parents, Gaston and Louise Thibodeaux Usé; daughter, Betty Ann Hebert; sisters, Ida Blanco and Faye Ordoyne; brother, Cleve Hughes; and granddaughter, Lori Kaye Hebert.
She was a loving, wonderful and caring mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be sadly missed. She loved playing cards with many friends and family. She was an extremely talented seamstress.
